Art Roberto

I was born in Cortona but at a very young age I moved to Milan and then to Savona.
After that I moved back to Tuscany where I started studying Archeology in Pisa and took part in many excavations, mainly in the cortonese territory which is very rich of Etruscan findings. That is when I met my first teacher, Achille Sartorio, an italo-argetinian academic painter from Florence who motivated me to join the Art Accademy in Florence. This artistic relationship stayed alive for a few years but the need to meet different realities brought me to France where I lived for seven years in Pairs, Nancy and the Alpes of Haute-Provence. I went back to Florence when I was called for a project which would reunite big masters, avantguardists and experimenters and I signed the manifest of the “New Renaissance” together with Emilio Greco, Primo Conti and other important Italian and French artists who were co-ordinated by Luigi Bellini.

The first exhibition of this group took place in the Rocca Boromea, on the Lago Maggiore, where we were guests of the princes of Borromeo, and lasted for 2 years.
In the meantime, I had various exhibitions in Rome, Bari, Florence, Savona, Aix-en-Provence, Martigny and every year in the prestigious rooms of Palazzo Casali in Cortona.
During the serbo-bosnian war I visited Bosnia twice with a group of psychologists to collect the artistical work of children and teenagers. This collection combined with a study which showed first the juvenile regressive phase and then the difficulty of recuperation during and after the conflicts.

I have my studio at Casabianca, the house of my partner Jutta, artist and designer herself and who, when possible, exhibits with me with great success.
